Magnetic Particle testing is done by inducing magnetic field in a material and detecting any magnetic flux leakage by sprinkling or flowing magnetic particles (i.e. Ferrous particles ) over the surface. Magnetic flux leakage happens wherever there is a discontinuity and the flux lines tends to go around the discontinuity as they are not able to go through the discontinuity.
